“Location, location, location” is a phrase used primarily when discussing real estate, but it can be used for organizing also! When you are organizing a room (or re-organizing it), think about the space in the room as real estate. You want to put the items that you use the most often in the prime real estate – even if it is not a “traditional” location for that item. For example, break the “rules” of kitchen cabinet space by storing kid cups and plates in a bottom cabinet. Your child will be able to reach (and put away!) their own dishes, instead of climbing on counters and step stools. Keep seasonal or “company only” items in the top or back cabinets and keep every day dishes in the easiest to reach, most convenient locations.

Remember: the easier your system is to use, the more likely it is going to stay organized!
