In this 90-second read, Amy talks about simple habits and routines you can adopt that will keep your car from turning into a garbage dump.

Toss the trash

Every time you stop to pump gas, take a few minutes and toss the cups and miscellaneous things that gather in the map pockets. If you have kids with you, have them pass the trash up to you. (For more tips to keep your ride looking sharp, click here!)

Give it a home

If an item doesn't live in your car, take it in the house at the end of the day. For things that don't need to be in your vehicle all the time (such as sports chairs or coolers), find a shelf or hook in the garage near your auto where you can easily grab them when you need them.

Create car bags

Pack car bags to contain the sports equipment or supplies your children need, and then take them in the house after your outing so you can restock them or wash dirty items. Similarly, you can pack a car bag to entertain a younger sibling (snacks, coloring books, small toys, etc.) who has to tag along. These small duffle bags are a great option, as they come in several colors, so each sibling can have a different one.
